Sheffield Health Compact Event -
29th November 2005
NHS and voluntary sector staff in Sheffield are invited
to attend the Sheffield Health Compact Event on Tuesday
29 November 2005 from 9am to 12pm. This will be an important
event for commissioners and other senior level NHS staff
responsible for working with the voluntary, community and
faith (VCF) sectors.
In April 2004 Sheffield's NHS organisations and the VCF
sectors signed up to a Health Compact designed to promote
a relationship between the NHS and the VCF sectors which
is efficient and effective (the NHS is obliged through national
direction to have a Health Compact in place).
During this year, Sheffield First for Health and Well-being
has been developing a set of Protocols for implementing
the Health Compact which set quality standards for the relationship
between the NHS and the VCF sectors. The Protocols focusing
on Partnership Working, Participation and Consultation,
and Funding, were developed by the Health Compact Steering
Group upon which all of the NHS organisations in the city
were represented.
This event is for a wider audience to find out more about
the Protocols and to be part of the discussions on putting
this work into practice. It will include local speakers
from the NHS and voluntary sector, national context setting
from the National Compact Office and interactive informative
workshops
The booking form attached to the invitation must be returned
by Friday 18 November to Carly Chambers at Voluntary Action
Sheffield, 69 Division St., S1 4GE, email c.chambers@vas.org.uk.
