Advocacy
Worker South East Primary Care Trust |
The overall purpose of the project is to empower the people
of South East Sheffield to enable them to have improved
access to mainstream services by providing opportunities
for training, capacity building, employment and advocacy,
as a mechanism for change. This will be achieved through
working with service providers to activate the changes.
The role of the advocacy worker has been proven to be an
effective mechanism, our aspiration is now to go into a
second phase which ties in with development of ‘neighbourhood
health groups’, community based areas where combined health
and social care teams operate. We want to develop advocacy
workers to be an integral part of this team in order to
provide a holistic approach to health.
